Although applications will not be processed until all the necessary documentation is received, Unity will honor the effective date provided at the time the application was completed.
Our Get-a-Quote tool and online application process will be updated to provide clarification on what documents may be required for each SEP reason so members can begin gathering those documents as early as they begin window shopping.
In tandem with the Interim Final Rule recently released by CMS, please be aware that in order for an individual to qualify for the Permanent Move SEP the member must have had minimum essential coverage for at least one of the 60 days prior to the date of their move to a new service area. If the member is not able to prove prior coverage for at least one day within the 60 days prior to their move they will not qualify for an SEP under Permanent Move. This additional requirement went into effect on July 11, 2016.
