Shared Decision Making
Cancer Screening

Focus on Colorectal Cancer Screening

Patients are more likely to follow through with colorectal cancer screening if they are involved in the decision-making process with their practitioners.  This is supported by the US Preventive Services Task Force1 and has been adopted by Quartz’s Preventive Health Clinical Practice Guideline.

To facilitate shared decision-making with your patients, the table of recommended Colorectal Cancer Screening Tests in Quartz’s Preventive Health Clinical Practice Guideline has been updated:

  • The hierarchy of testing methods has been removed
  • Pros and cons are provided for each testing option.

To see these changes, go to Table 10. Summary of Recommended Colorectal Cancer Screening Tests.
