For Unity's Commercial HMO / POS Combined Product Line
The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. The NCQA seal is a symbol of quality. This seal can only be used by companies that earn it. These companies must pass a rigorous and complete review of performance.
NCQA evaluates health plans on elements that fall into five broad categories –
- Utilization Management
- Quality Improvement
- Members’ Rights and Responsibilities
- Member Connections
Unity first became accredited by NCQA in 2002. Since then, Unity has kept the highest status. This shows our commitment to quality and customer service.
To determine health plan rating, NCQA evaluates each health plan in the areas of plan operation, member satisfaction and member health and prevention. Plans must meet or exceed national and / or regional performance in their Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS®) and Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS®) results.
Unity Health Plans’ Commercial HMO / POS plans are rated 4.5 out of 5 among NCQA’s Private Health Insurance Plan Ratings 2016 – 2017. Learn more.
