Unity's Pharmacy Program
Unity’s pharmacy programs are managed by the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics Pharmacy Department.
The pharmacy department is a nationally recognized leader in developing, implementing and studying drug use policy for a wide variety of health care settings. Our pharmacy program philosophy is built on the following key points:
-
Focus on Value | We strive to focus on the value associated with the use of a medication rather than simply the cost.
-
Collaboration | Unity's formulary process emphasizes collaboration with local practitioners and drug policy experts.
-
Local | Unity's formulary is developed specifically for member needs and is based on local medical practice patterns.
-
Integration | We strive for continuity and integration in drug policy throughout the UW Health System.
-
NCQA | The pharmacy program is managed in compliance with NCQA standards representing "best practices" for pharmacy benefit management.
The Prescription Drug Benefit brochure provides detailed information on the pharmacy drug benefit.
