Q: Is the H1N1 vaccine covered by Unity?

The cost of administering the H1N1 vaccine is a covered benefit for all Unity members.

Q: Where can individuals receive the H1N1 vaccine?

It is still being determined where the H1N1 vaccine will be administered.  For up-to-date information, please refer to the Flu Clinic Locator for further information.

Q: How can I set up an onsite flu shot clinic for my employees?

Due to the seasonal flu vaccine shortage, seasonal flu clinics (not H1N1 vaccine) are temporarily on hold. Upon vaccine availability, if you are interested in setting up a worksite seasonal flu shot clinic, please contact Unity’s Health Services Department at healthservices@unityhealth.com, or call 608-821-4134 or 866-884-4601.  H1N1 flu vaccine administration is not being offered at worksites.

Q: Do you have materials available on H1N1 that I can share with my employees?

You can find information about H1N1 from nationally recognized sources to share with your employees in our Flu Information section of the website.  Here you will find tips on prevention, information on how to recognize symptoms of the flu and what to do if you have the flu. Please share these resources with your employees by linking directly to our website or printing information to display in your office.

Q: What steps should I take to inform my employees about H1N1 and basic prevention?

You can find information about H1N1 (Swine Flu) in our H1N1 Information section that you can share with your employees. Here you’ll find tips on prevention, information on how to recognize symptoms of the flu and what to do if you have the flu.

Q: What should I do if one of my employees has symptoms of either the seasonal flu or H1N1?

It is recommended that if an employee has flu-like symptoms, he/she should stay home and avoid contact with other people.  It is recommended that high risk individuals should first call their PCP with questions and concerns.  Others who are sick more than three days should call their PCP for advice. Information regarding ways to lessen symptoms and how to deal with the flu is available in our Flu Information section.
