The Big Ten Network will debut "Impact the World," a powerful new original series that shifts the focus from the playing fields to the world stage, beginning Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 8:30 p.m. (CST).
On January 31, the show will look at UW Health's cardiac disease prevention, screening and rehabilitation program, which is one of the first in the country. The physicians who operate the program are considered national leaders and have been responsible for writing some of the major cholesterol-screening guidelines in use today.
University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics is the Consumer Choice Award winner in both Madison and Janesville, according to a national survey of consumer perceptions. The hospital was recognized for consistently offering the “best overall quality, best overall reputation, best doctors and best nurses” among hospitals in the Madison and Janesville areas.
The findings come from a nationwide survey of 270,000 households representing more than 450,000 consumers. The 3200 hospitals named by consumers are then analyzed and ranked based on their geographic area. UW was ranked the highest in both the Madison and Janesville areas. This is the 10th time UW has ranked at the top in Madison and the second time it has ranked in the top for Janesville.

The UW Health Welcome Center is a concierge service that helps new Unity members who would like to choose a UW Health clinic in Dane County select a primary care physician (PCP) and transition their care to UW Health. The UW Hospital Emergency Department is among the 20 best in the country according to the Emergency Nurses Association. The UW Emergency Department is one of 20 departments nationwide chosen to receive the Lantern Award, which recognizes an emergency department's "quality, presence of a healthy work environment and accomplishments in incorporating evidence-based practice and innovation into emergency care."
